The Foreclosure Prevention Project: Work with homeowners, especially those who have subprime, non-traditional, or high cost loans (high APRs and interest-only loans), or who are victims of unfair or fraudulent practices, to avoid foreclosure and remain in their homes. The Project works in cooperation with HUD-approved housing counseling agencies in a collaborative effort to prevent loss of the home in foreclosure. Financial eligibility is based on 80 percent of the “median” income set by HUD annually .
The Project is funded by: Dept. of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR), NYS Banking Dept., and Long Island Community Foundation.
